Liebster award reprise!

Liebster award

I have been nominated for this award twice in the last few months.

Firstly by knitxpressions here:

The date is November but this was in May 2013.

I wish to say ‘thank you very much’ to her for thinking of me and suggest you go and find out more about her on the above link and see what she has been up to lately as well.

Then again more recently by onoodles here:

Again very many thanks for the appreciation and do go and see what she has been up to.

*****     *****     *****     *****     *****

I was originally nominated for this award by Patricia over at DaniellaJoe

and although I did consider trying to find answers to the eleven questions posed by knitxpressions and onoodles I have decided [due to a lack of answers to many of them 😦 I think I must be a boring person. ] to refer you to my original post on this award.

Like Patricia, in future I am intending to concentrate on crafting and leave awards to people just setting out on blogging but I do have one more recent award to acknowledge and as that is a new one, I have been busy trying to put together a suitable response.

Wonderful Team Member Readership Award

Copper-sunRecently I have been nominated for this award by both manty67 (in April) and creativepixie (in July).

I wish to give them both many thanks for thinking of me and suggest you go and visit their blogs if you haven’t already done so.

The Rules of this award are:-

  1. The Nominee of the Wonderful Team member Readership Award shall display the logo on his/her blog.
  2. The Nominee shall nominate 14 readers they appreciate over a period of 7 days, all at once or little by little.
  3. The Nominee shall name his/her Wonderful Team Member Readership Award nominees on a post or on posts during 7 days.

Well finding fourteen new blogs to award this to is a great number so rather than regretfully make no response, I have decided to re-list the blogs I chose last September when I was nominated for the same award by Patricia of

Two of the people on the original list do not seem to be adding new content at present so I have chosen two other blogs to keep the number at fourteen.

The people I had chosen, in no particular order, are:-

And now I want to add.

They all have great blogs that are worth a look.

Catching up with awards!

sisterhood-of-the-world-bloggers-award1 I have been so busy the last few months that in spite of having been nominated for several awards, I havn’t found time to respond. So I am trying to make up for that now.

Versatile Blogger award

versitle-bloggerAs I mentioned in a recent post I was recently awarded this by cute as a button. So ‘Thank you’ again to her.

I notice this is a different badge to that I have seen before so I am not sure if it is essentially the same or different.

As far as I am aware the rules are as usual.

  • Thank the person who gave you the award and include a link to their site.
  • Tell seven things about yourself.
  • Nominate 15 other blogs for this award.
  • Tell them that you have nominated them.

First seven things about myself

I don’t know if I have shared these things before but not to make it too complicated I think I will just say a few things off the top of my head.

  1. I have always been creative, sometimes it has been handicrafts, sometimes it has been photography and sometimes computer programming or using computer graphics.
  2. I also used to write poetry.
  3. I have three lovely children who are now grown up and have children of their own. Being a mother has always been the most important thing in my life.
  4. I have always loved Mathematics, especially geometry, because I am a very visual person.
  5. Being visual, I am also quite observant. My mother used to call me ‘gimlet eyes’ because I would notice if she made a mistake in her crochet!
  6. I love the natural world and like going for walks in the countryside.
  7. I also love reading stories but tend to prefer science fiction and murder mysteries to your typical ‘modern novel’.

I always find it very difficult to find fifteen blogs to nominate so I have decided to just nominate seven.

Finding these blogs has served a double purpose for me as I have noticed that quite a few of the blogs that I follow have either said that they are having a break or have not posted anything for a while, so I have found seven blogs that I think that I will enjoy following, including some fairly new ones.

They are alphabetically:-

got2focus I am enjoying her photographs and she does crochet too.

HIJinKs Crochet Knitting and crochet and the CAL.

Kaf’s Nice Things Knitting, crochet, cooking……………….. Very versatile!

littlemessyla Cards but crochet too.

MishellSoup Lovely crochet projects but other crafts too.

nanacathydotcom Crochet (well up on the CAL), knitting, photographs………………….

Toadstool Tales Lovely photos, crochet, and who knows what else ???

Blog of the Year 2012 award

I have been given two awards lately. ‘The Versatile Blogger’ award by cuteasabutton and the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ award by Patricia at daniellajoe

So a great many thanks to both of them.

My response to ‘The Versatile Blogger’ award will take more time to prepare so I will leave that for the moment and concentrate on the latter.

What I quite like about the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ award is that you are even encouraged to give it to people who have received it already (You may notice I have the ‘one star’ version) and there is no target number of people to give it to, just all those whose blogs you have particularly enjoyed in 2012.

You can find the rules here:-‘Blog of the Year 2012’ award

I have decided to give it to all those blogs that I follow that have particularly pleased and inspired me and who I know are still in action, as some I started following have been very quiet lately or I know are having a break.

So I am awarding it to the following (alphabetical order):-

DaniellaJoe’s Blog

The Green Dragonfly

The Little Room of Rachell | Crochet, Chat & Photos

My Crafty Therapy

Nice piece of work | for the love of (hand)made and things that are good for the soul

Sincerely, Sara

Wool Hogs | Colouring your world, one stitch at a time

Nominating 11 blogs:

In chosing these blogs I have explored those that I follow, people with blogs who follow me, and other crafty people on WordPress.

Anyway here are eleven blogs that I feel deserve the Liebster award. I think that they haven’t received the award before but of course, as always, I may be mistaken in this.

And this is not to say that all the other blogs that I appreciate don’t deserve it too.

BLOGS in no particular order.

Why not go and check out these blogs maybe you will find one or more that you really like.

Another award! – Beautiful Blogger

I have been nominated for this award by Lisa of
So thank you very much to Lisa and do go and visit her blog and see all that she’s been up to.

  2. Write something about the blogger who nominated you and link back to their blog.
  3. Write 7 things about yourself.
  4. Nominate seven other bloggers for the award too.

Done 1.

Now 2.

3. About myself.

  1. I never thought I would colour my hair when I went grey but a few months ago I decided to try having it copper coloured as I have always wanted to be this colour and I love it.

  3. I knew I wanted to get involved with computers from the age of 16 (1963) and my first job did involve computers.

  5. I love cooking especially making cakes and cookies.
  6. I always like to have a fiction book on the go and seem to be reading a lot of murder mysteries lately.
  7. I also like science fiction and some fantasy like the Anne McCaffery dragon books.

4. Nominating other bloggers.

I have sort of agonised about whether I should give this award to different people than I chose for the Wonderful Team Member Readership Award but I chose those people mostly for their reading skills and this one is about being a beautiful blogger so I am nominating the following seven people because they are among the people that I feel I know best and they are all beautiful people and have great blogs.

I omitted anyone who appeared to have already received this award.

  1. Maryanne
  2. cute as a button
  3. Nice piece of work
  4. Rachell
  5. Patch
  6. Green Dragonfly
  7. Daniella Joe

Wonderful Team Member Readership Award

Daniella Joe has nominated me for the  ‘Wonderful Team Member Readership Award’. Yeh! another award, isn’t that so kind of her.

According to her post the rules for the Wonderful Team Member Readership Award are:

As always fourteen is a lot of people but as this appears to be a relatively new award hopefully most of the people I would want to choose have not been awarded this award before.

I think that the award is supposed to appreciate the reading of blogs as well as the writing so I am trying to chose people who show both these attributes.

The people I have chosen, in no particular order, are:-

I decided to nominate all fourteen people at once because later in the week I want to concentrate on my next three squares for the CAL and after that I might just manage my entry for the Monthly Challenge. 🙂

One Lovely Blog award

DaniellaJoe at nominated me for the One Lovely Blog award.

So thank you very much DaniellaJoe; I feel so honoured to be nominated and am very grateful for this vote of confidence in what I am trying to do.

She has a lovely blog herself so go and look.

What I am less happy about is the demand of being awarded since I am having difficulty in finding another fifteen blogs to pass it onto, certainly if I keep to the criteria I set myself previously see HERE.

So many blogs are too well established and/or have the awards already or are too new to know how they will turn out.

But I have managed to find six blogs to give this award to so rather than delay I will nominated these six people for the award now.

I am also supposed to reveal 7 things about myself.

(I can see I can’t count as I only listed five things for the Versatile Blogger award recently. Well they are both odd numbers! – so I’ve numbered them this time.)

  1. One of my favourite foods is duck (sorry to any vegetarians or fluffy duck lovers) and I am going to have a special duck meal this weekend.
  2. My favourite colour is blue and I especially like wearing blue and pink.
  3. Even though I am now retired I never find enough time to do everything I would like to do.
  4. I enjoy using Wii Fit to keep in shape.
  5. I even play games like Mario Kart on the Wii.
  6. I also enjoy computer adventure games. The first ones I played were text adventure games – a bit like a radio play rather than television.
  7. I also like jigsaws both with real pieces and on the computer – well you can’t lose the pieces that way!

The Rules are:-

The Rules for accepting this Award is as follows:

1. Add the award to your blog.
2. Thank the blogger(s) who gave it to you.
3. Mention 7 random things about yourself.
4. List the rules.
5. Award to 15 bloggers.
6. Inform each of those 15 by leaving a comment on their blog.

So I nominate:-

Crochet Again –  especially bright colourful crochet.

Clothmonkey –  lovely variety lots of crafty things.

A Conversation with MOO – relatively new but crochet and sewing looks beautiful and creative.

divinedebrisjewelry – I was going to award her the versatile blogger award but someone has already done that and her jewellery is so beautiful and she is amazingly prolific.

Home, Heart and Hook – mainly bright colourful crochet but cooking and photos too.

morganhausen – because she does such lovely knitting and crochet.

And now I must go and tell them…………………….
