I think I mentioned a baby blanket somewhere. Well I have got far enough that it is worth showing you how far I have come.
It is a rainbow Celtic Knot design that I was quite taken with. I offered it to a friend’s son who is about to become a father for the first time. I offered him a choice of colours for the background because I know grey is the new white for baby items but do wonder if I should have just chosen white because maybe then the pale blue would have shown up better.
This is the computer simulation of the finished blanket.
Another picture.
Using my suggested new method of Join-As-You-Go and it is better than the normal method for what I wanted but I think my joining the squares in a planned order so the background ones are made first and the knot ones are joined later would work better for knot blankets. The slip stitches don’t show though in this method.
Amazing!

Hope it will turn out as I imagined when it is finished.

Wow this is just gorgeous. The amount of work making all the individual squares is so impressive

Thank you. Well at least each square is quite quick to make. Lots of ends though!
