Well I have filled it up and am about to start on my new one. both booksThat’s the one on the right. They are the same size. The one on the left looks bigger because all the photographs make it bulge. photos in project book

One recent discovery is that whereas I used to draw pencil lines on each page to keep my writing straight;drawn lines in bookI used the lined paper stuck to a piece of card to mark the ends and then used a ruler;

I now have created thislined undersheetwhich is like what we used to put under the page, years ago, for writing letters on fancy notepaper.

I have found that It shows through clearly unless there are photographs on the other side of the page.

So it will save me time and effort.

The first item for the new book will be my Celtic Knot Granny blanket pattern.

I already have photographs to illustrate it.

  1. This is lovely. I share your joy of starting a new book, it always feels so good. Like new bed sheets 🐱 I love your photos! Do you print them at home or do you get them printed in a store ? I haven’t started putting photos in my knitting journal yet.

    1. I agree about the joy of fresh things like bed sheets. With the photos I used to have an inkjet printer that made a good job of photos but in the event my son had given me a small Polaroid printer that took ZinK paper and would print instant photos from my camera onto small rectangles that had a removable layer that you took off to reveal a sticky side. This made sticking them in easy BUT the company changed the specification of their latest printers and paper so when I bought more paper the pictures came out with a red cast. The price had also gone up so instead of 10p each print it was 50p.
      So what I have done for the latest photos is to create montages of the photos I want on my computer and send them to an online firm to be printed. This means to be cost effective I need to wait till I have a lot of photos to include. I also have to use a Prit Stick to attach them but it seems to work okay.

  2. Wow, talk about organised! I need to take a leaf from your book (pun intended) because my notes, such as they are, consist of scribbles on bits of loose paper or scribbles on a page in my desk diary from a previous day that still has some space left. I don’t even want to think about what Freud would say about the state of my mind…..hahaha

  3. How very nice to have all the info on one place. I have tended to do this with my projects but have never got round to printing out the finished items. That seems like such a good way to keep a record.
