Another Potted Plant

Just a quick post this week. Still working on blanket but I had a daughter with a birthday and decided a cactus in a pot would be a good idea to send.

Decided a plastic pot with a crochet cover would be best to put in the post.

I looked on the internet for a few ideas but didn’t see anything that I wanted to make, so I got out this book book of crochet stitchesand the cotton left over from making these cotton coastal coastersand improvised.

The patterns in the book were worked flat so I made the cover flat with a seam. I didn’t really know how many increases were needed and the join is hardly invisible but that can be at the back and I’m pleased with the result. crochet cactus in pot with crochet cover

    1. Well it has some great patterns but do read it in conjunction with this errata page – https://www.gmcbooks.com/gmc-craft-book-errata/crocheted-succulents-2/ – which is rather extensive. For one pattern they even list the wrong colour for the yarn needed! However the Cactii only need ordinary acrylic type yarn in green and some Rico Design Creative Bubble yarn which is designed to make scrubbies. I thought I might try using it that way when I have finished making cactii as I will probably have quite a bit left.
