Textile Tuesday

Joining in with Wild Daffodil’s Textile Tuesday; see her’s here – https://daffodilwild.wordpress.com/2020/03/03/textile-tuesday-box/

Recently when going down to Woolston to buy some more yarn I decided to pop into the library and take a look at the display I had been told about.

The display containing many knitted figures is to commemorate the 400th Anniversary of the Sailing of the Mayflower from Southampton.

I only had my old phone with me so the photographs are not very good but I hope they give you an idea of what was created.

The main display

Now a series of closer views of the separate parts.

The people on the quayside on the left

Moving on to the middle

The people on the right

And below in the boat

Woolston library like other libraries in the area hosts a knitting group.

  1. What a wonderful contribution to Textile Tuesday Jane. I love these figures.
I am often left cold by knittied displays like knitted food, picnics etc but this has such charm and character.
    Thnk you for sharing.
