Just the card and present for my daughter.
I took a leaf out of Sandra at Wild Daffodil’s book and decided to use the sample I had made while planning my Lost Garden blanket colours for the birthday card.
Of course I tidied it up and sewed in the ends.
And attached it to a card. For the present my daughter had admired a heat proof mat I had made, that I often used under the dish of stuffing or similar when I served a roast dinner.
It was a single colour version of my Celtic Coaster made in DMC XL cotton.
Shown here photographed to give an idea of size.
So I bought some more of the cotton and made another one.
I had also told my daughter that, if she wanted, she could have the green cotton shopping bag I had made recently,as I already had a blue one.
She thought that this would be useful.
Now I had bought some fabric wrapping from Lush, as an alternative to wrapping paper. And I thought that my daughter would appreciate the idea and reuse it.
So I put the present together.
and wrapped it up with some ribbon I had saved from a present I had been given.
Voila!
Fantastic! Fully approve 🥰

Yes, I undid some of my experiments but I thought it was better to use this yarn this way. And yes I couldn’t resist the wrapping fabric. Wondering if to try to make my own out of off-cuts from my trousers.

Yes!Yes!Yes! That would be fabulous – even patchwork of offcuts would be great.
You could link to Kate’s Scrap Happy post on the 15th if you felt like it.
