From time to time I have talked about Leanne Cole’s Monochrome Madness posts and my entries. She has now reached week 52 and it has been decided that we should all send our favourite entry so far for a great favourites gallery.
Here is a link to her post – http://leannecolephotography.com/2015/03/04/mm52-monochrome-madness-one-year-on/
I haven’t an entry for every week as I didn’t even start contributing at the beginning and I have had a couple of breaks for different reasons but here is a gallery of all my entries.
Week 23. My first entry. Taken in Avila, Spain.
Week 24. Boar’s Hill in July. One of the few photographs where I set my camera to monochrome before I took it.
Week 25. Also taken at Boar’s Hill, Oxford. The original looks almost as monochrome as this.
Week 26. Special challenge: a colour photograph that could almost be monochrome.
Week 27. Southampton Common. I loved the shine on the fruit.
Week 28. A swan at Southampton Common. I tried adding a mask this week.
Week 29. The Tudor House Museum, Southampton. I took this specially.
Week 30: Nelson on his column, Trafalgar Sqare, London. I liked the unusual view. It suggested the loneliness of command to me.
Week 36: Taken on the Isle of Wight in October this year.
Week 37: Isle of Wight, same place as the previous one. I like being able to frame a landscape with a structure.
Week 38:This was taken a few years ago. I was so pleased to be able to capture a butterfly this close and loved the angle.
Weel 39: More Isle of Wight. The donkey Sanctuary. I was struck by the progression of both shade and size.
Week 40: This photograph was over exposed originally but I thought this added a touch of mystery to the shot.
Week 41: A picture take a few years ago that like the butterfly was something I was really pleased with.
Week 42: Taken at Tywyn, Mid Wales. I love the sea and thought the posts in the sea added interest.
Week 43: Special challenge for week approaching Christmas – to add a touch of colour. I also added a sepia tint as I liked the effect.
Week 44: The Marland’s Shopping Centre, Southampton, roof.
Week 49: Back in action after being too busy to think about photographs. Taken in my garden after he rain.
Week 50: Another photograph from my trip to Boar’s Hill. I am very fond of paths leading into the distance, especially ones dappled with sunlight.
Week 51: This was taken near St Beuno’s in North Wales. I loved the way the sunlight was caught by the thistles.
I found it very hard to decide on a favourite photograph for week 52 but in the end I decided on the one of the butterfly.
Have you thought of trying Monochrome? All entries are welcome to Monochrome Madness.

The butterfly is stunning, but I think my favourite is the flower (0331-49). Is it a type of daisy?

The daisy was one of the ones that I might have also chosen it was a hard choice. The flower is an osteospermum. It was actually a bright yellow but of course yellow photographs as white in monochrome. I believe these flowers come from your part of the world.
